Fraunhofer IPM Laser Recording
Digital image processing places high demands on imaging techniques. Today, lasers are used for exposing digital data on photographic paper, printing plates or film. Next to the photo and film industry, laser imaging systems open up a number of possibilities for various industries such as printed circuit board technology, medical technology, long-term archiving or security technology.
Fraunhofer IPM develops reliable laser imaging systems of high quality and resolution. One of the first systems was the large format foto laser imager Lambda 130, which was realized for the Italian company Durst more than ten years ago. The award-winning ARRILASER for the cinematographic industry is one of the highlights in a series of imaging systems made by Fraunhofer IPM.
Based on their experience with imaging, Fraunhofer IPM is now working on the exposure of 3D images. The imaging process used here is integral photography.
